Sort of. 3.4GHz is the base rate of the chip, but 4.5 to 5.0 is the kind of speed you aim for, when overclocking a 2600k that has water cooling.

You should pull the PSU and re-sleeve the wires with some decent sleeve and heat shrink on the ends for extra sexy eye candy appeal--actually sleeve all the wires including the fans and SATA cables. While you're at it, clean the logos off the water block, GPUs and power supply so you're left with pure black guts.

When you can spare 200 bucks, buy a matching Intel SSD and RAID0 those bitches. That way you can order a pizza AND go to Subway while everyone else is still loading into the zone.

Or instead of buying a 2nd Intel HDD, get a OCZ Vertex3 Max IOPS (MI) SSD. They go pretty damn fast, I have one running in my new rig and have been nothing but impressed.

RAID0 is limited by the lowest common denominator. So might as well get a $170 Intel drive instead of a $230 Vertex3 ($270 for an MI). The performance in RAID will be the same. If you were buying two new drives, then something faster would be they way to go.

ps. That chart is seriously biased. Without things like Adata S511, Corsair Force GT, Mushkin Chronos Deluxe, and Patriot WildFire you're comparing apples to wallabies.

Added 8GB of RAM yesterday. Total of 16GB now.

Why you ask?

Newegg had a 10% off sale.
